In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, eating healthy food remains an important part of maintaining your health. While there are no specific foods that can help protect you from the virus, a nutritious diet can boost your immune system or help you fight off symptoms. You may not be able to share meals with friends and loved ones, but there are lots of other ways to eat well and support your health at this difficult time.
And one such food which is yummy and at the same time will keep you fit is Semolina (Sooji).
Ingredients required :
1. Semolina: 500gm
2. Yogurt (Dahi) : 1 cup
3. Salt and water
4. Rai : 2-3 tsp
5. Oil : 4-5tsp
6. Eno (Flavourless) : 2 packets
7. Curry leaves : 1 small bowl
Recipe :
1. Take a bowl and add semolina in it.
2. Add 1 cup yogurt and hand mix it.
3. Add some salt ( as per taste) and water to make a batter.
4. Keep the batter aside for 2 hours.
5. Take the idli maker vessel and fill it up with water (1/4th height). The height should such that water doesn’t come in contact with the tray.
6. Close the lid and let the water boil for 5 mins.
7. Apply oil on the dhokla tray and keep it in idli maker for 5 mins.
8. Meanwhile, divide the batter into two parts. Once the tray is hot, divide the batter into two parts
9. Add eno (1 packet) to one half of the batter ( If eno is not available u can use baking soda, but best results with eno). Add eno only before putting the batter inside for cooking.
10. Similarly, when u cook the next half, add eno before putting the batter inside for cooking.
11. Now close the lid. And let it cook for 15 mins. Keep checking in between if its ready or not.
12. Prepare a tadka using rai, oil and curry leaves and apply it on the dhokla before serving.
Semolina flour will not only keep you fit but will also fill your tummy and keep you away from unhealthy eating habits.
