Opening his crumbled eyes,
The man peeped out of the window
A blare vision shook him up
Seeing his freedom walk towards him.
He had prayed for it for long
Let them harm him so long
The seed of hope he had planted
Had finally bear fruit he needed.
He raised his hand, to feel the tricolour
Taken by surprise, he felt a shiver
Again a whip slapped on his hand
Stop day dreaming, shouted the man.
Will his hope, always be a dream?
Or will his God punish the mean?
Will he get what he deserves?
A day without someone holding his nerves.
Oh mother earth, take care of your child
Don't let his fate be mild
Its often said, believe in her and she will seek
She won't let your future be bleak.
Thudding footsteps, cranking floor
Someone's coming to beat him once more
He lay there as dead, no life in his body
Getting ready for what is now his hobby.
A helping hand patted his shoulder
And the place felt less colder
With the power left in his base
He turned back to see a familiar face.
Red eyes, bloody oozing out of his shoulder
Khakhi wear, he is the Indian soldier
He felt a new energy, he felt his warmth
He had been through hell and what not.
The 20ft unsurmountable wall didn't look so tall
The bars on his freedom vanished after all
He came on two legs, left on one
Mother earth had finally blessed her son.
The dream he saw everyday became real
The tricolour on his back and his faith surreal
The pain and burns he took everyday
Went away seeing the boat at bay.
There sweet homes they leave behind
For rules of the country they abide
Leaving tears and loved ones all behind
To fight wars on the border side.
He was ready to give his life for the nation
To feel independence and its every notion
He was a spy in the enemy's region
Serving his country which is his religion.
Let's pledge this independence day to remember
For those who died without any fear
Its your turn to lift the tricolour
Never let it's meaning become mere.
