Chinese food and the way it is prepared is influenced by the two major philosophies – Confucianism and Taoism. One of the standards set by Confucius was that food must be cut into small bite-size pieces before being served. Those who follow Taoism focus more on food that promotes health and longevity and those that have healing powers.
The coming Chinese food recipe – Veg momos can be made in two ways, either fried or steamed. I prefer the lather coz it’s a much healthier option.

1. Wheat Flour:250gm
2. Onion: 1 unit
3. Garlic: 1 unit

6. Leeks: 1/2 unit
7. Salt
8. Black pepper
9. Oil
10. Water
11. Soya sauce: 1.5 tsp
12. Chilli sauce: 1 tsp
13. Steamer
Recipe :-
1. Take wheat flour in a bowl.
2. Add one tsp oil, salt, and water to it.
3. Hand mix it and make a dough.
4. Wrap the dough in a cloth and keep it aside for 30 mins.
5. Take a pan and add some oil ( 1tsp).
6. Put chopped onion (1 piece) and garlic (1 piece).
7. Saute it in the pan for 5 mins.
8. Add chopped veggies ( carrot, capsicum, leeks) to it. Stir the mix for 5-7 mins.
9. Put salt, black pepper and mix well on low flame
10. Add 1 tsp chili sauce and 1.5 tsp soya sauce.
11. Cook the mix on low flame for 5 mins.
12. Keep the mix aside now in a bowl.
13. Now fill the steamer with water and put it on flame till water starts boiling.
14. Now, divide the dough into 2 parts. From each part, make small balls.
15. Roll each ball to make medium size roti and fill it with mix prepared. Apply water on sides and close it in the shape of a momo.
16. U will be able to make around 15 – 20 momos. 17. Apply oil on the tray and on each momo and put it inside the steamer for 10 mins approx. 18. Check-in between till the momo becomes translucent.
19. Serve it with schezwan sauce.
